| Scattering by a multilayered sphere | Prev topic | Next topic |
The theory of light scattering by a coated sphere (Aden and Kerker 1951) is the basis for a theory of light scattering by a multilayed sphere (for example, Bhandari R 1985, see also layered sphere, scattering). By using a perturbation approach, Bhandari R 1986 has also derived a model for the scattering properties of a coated shere in two limiting cases: a small core and a thin shell.
The model of multilayered sphere has been extended also to the case of a radially homogeneous sphere (for example Kai L and Massoli 1994, see also layered sphere).
