Complex refractive index of fused quartz: Real part data for short wavelengths

Real part, m', of the complex refractive index of fused quartz as a function of the wavelength, λ in the small-wavelength normal dispersion range according to data sources listed in Table 1: red pluses (λ = 0.2 to 4 µm, Rodney and Spindler 1954a), orange curve (Sellmeier-type, Eq. 1, fit to data in a wavelength range of 0.21 to 3.71 µm (Malitson 1965), blue squares (0.23 to 3.37 µm, Wray and Neu 1969), green x's (Tan and Arndt 2001). A red curve represents the Malitson data fit (Eq. 1) validated in a wavelength range of 3.80 to 6.70 µm by Tan (1998). Due to the tightness of the patch of data points in this normal dispersion wavelength-range, some sumbols and curves may be obscured by others. All data are shown in Fig. 1. Data and fits for the anomalous dispersion region are shown in Fig. 3.
