Mie theory: Test values Parent topic

Table 1. Results of Mie calculations for the attenuation efficiency, Qc, and scattering efficiency, Qb. Column x contains the relative particle size. Columns m' and m" contain respectively the real and imaginary parts of the refractive index of the particle material relative to that of the surrounding medium. The values of the efficiencies have been obtained with programs: MIEV0 - Wiscombe (1996); as quoted by Du (2004), MIECPP - Du (2004), and MJC Light Scattering Calculator for Homogeneous Sphere. The results obtained with all these programs agree to within the numerical precision shown.
