Mie theory: Fourier analysis of particle size-dependent patterns (modification history) Parent topic

24 July 2006
An error caused by inadvertent inclusion of extraneous data in Fourier analysis of the element M11(θ, x) of the scattering matrix in Mie theory for the refractive index of 1.05 (which was erroneously reported as 1.19) at at scattering angles greater than 90°, was corrected. This affected Fig. 2a and Fig. 3a and caused a slight modification of the relevant regression equation coefficients, now listed in Table 1. This regression equation was slightly modified to its present version from:

fx = 0.0395(0.0031) + 0.0051(0.0000) θ

Fourier analysis of M11(x), where x is the relative particle size, was extended to include the case of additional values of the refractive index of a microsphere, m = 1.02, 1.19, and 1.33.
