Single-scattering albedo, ω0 - a ratio of the scattering coefficient to the attenuation coefficient, i.e b/c. This ratio can also be interpreted as the probability of photon survival in a turbid medium. Indeed, if the scattering coefficient, b, equals the attenuation coefficient, c, i.e. if the absorption coefficient, a = 0, then the probability of photon survival is unity (ω0 = 1). The single-scattering albedo assumes values of 0 ≤ ω0 < 1 otherwise.
